SimpleFit, Level 7*, Day 1
I have not yet beaten Level 6, but, in an effort to do so, I am going to do the Level 7 workout on Day 1, from today until I do beat Level 6.
As many rounds as possible (AMRAP), in 20 minutes, with a 20 lb weight vest, of:
- 4 Pull-Ups
- 8 Push-Ups
- 12 Air Squats
Result
- Rounds: 14 (66.7 s/round) (+1 cf. Previous and -5 cf. PR)
- Reps: 56 pull-ups + 112 push-ups + 168 squats = 342 (3.51 s/rep)

Hey man, still training..? Hope so, you're a big inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Sam.
ReplyDeleteYes and no. Off and on.
It is frustrating, but I am still kicking.
Can I ask, what sort of results can you achieve from using Simplefit workouts exclusively?
DeleteWhats the furthest progress you've ever made and was that just from doing the program as is? Do you need to diet much alongside the program?
Thanks
Hi Sam.
ReplyDeleteIn 2007, decided to get in shape. I looked like this:

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do to get in shape. I did not start SimpleFit until March 2008.
I gradually shifted my diet to paleo/primal, and lost weight easily. I lost a pound a week by cutting out coffee cream and most sugar (honest, I still ate some dark chocolate).
I was very motivated by SF's "ladder". I pushed hard to beat each level. I did add a weight vest on Level 6 or 7, to help me get strong enough to beat them.
By March 2011, I looked like this:

But now I am 50 years old. I had two hernia surgeries since 2011, and life seemed to get more in the way of working out.
I have not given up though. I will find a new fitness and nutrition system than works for me.
Thats really insightful thank you. I guess I'm getting older alongside a manual labour job, making me look at simpler purely bodyweight routines to lower joint stress etc.
ReplyDeleteI may get back to doing purely simplefit one day. Perhaps we could motivate eachother with it.
Thanks. Sorry for late reply!
